A Malagasy man with a tenrec (Tenrec ecaudatus). The meat of this primitive mammal,endemic to Madagascar,is a delicacy among the local population.The Tenrecinae family consists of 24 different species. Ecaudatus is not only the largest of these but also the largest insectivore in the world.
