We've just launched our new tag cloud feature to the Masterfile website. This feature will help you find the images you need faster, without needing to think up complex or combined keywording terms.
Wikipedia describes a tag cloud as a "visual depiction of content tags used on a website."
On Masterfile.com, we've taken our keywords and counted the response images get when searched for by that term. We display these groups of keywords, like "high heels and food shopping", as examples of searches other designers are using to find the images they need.
To view a tag cloud for a particular image, just click a thumbnail to enlarge the image and see the tag cloud. Click on any of the terms you see to do a search for images that have those tags. The bigger a tag is, the more popular it is for that image.
Tag clouds can reduce the amount of time you spend thinking of keywords to filter large searches, like "woman" or "man" or "people". Maybe someone else has searched for "woman portrait eye contact" in the past; you can simply click a link to refine your search.
Tag clouds allow you to go deeper into the collection to find the images you need, exposing images you may otherwise never see.
You'll also find other single word keywords that you never knew existed. They can lead to you to more images, perhaps even the one you've been looking for.
For now, you'll only see the tags in English and only on images that have more than 3 tags. Other supported languages will be coming in the next few weeks.
